BEIRUT: Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon Juan Carlos Gafo attended the closing ceremony for the project “Reinforcing Capabilities for Tissue and Organ Donation and Transplantation System in Lebanon” on Wednesday.
The project was funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and implemented by the National Organization for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, with funding of over 100,000 euros. It aimed at developing organ and tissue donation, contributing to the training of transplant medical coordinators, and raising public awareness about transplantation in Lebanon.
Gafo gave a speech during the gathering, which was held at the head office of the Order of Physicians, and stressed that Spain was a world leader in organ donation.
